The Bahrain American Council Advisory Board met together to discuss the mission, vision,
and strategy going forward for the BAC. Members of the Advisory Council are Dr. Michael Czinkota,
Ambassador Richard Carlson, Dr. Khalafalla, Matthew Freedman, John Eddy, Al Jackson, and
Tom Pitcher.
BAC met with Congresswoman Marsha Fudge to discuss Bahrain and her office, and various
cultural programs that the groups will be doing together.
Meeting with Senator Mike Lee and Dr. Khalafalla to brief Sen. Lee about the situation in
Bahrain. Senator Lee serves as part of the Foreign Relations Committee.
US Congressional Delegation Visit to Bahrain
Congressman Dan Burton and Dr. Samia Burton were invited to speak at the University of
Bahrain by President Janahi, President of the University. The Congressman addressed the
importance of Bahrain to the United States and the world and the important reform taking place
under the leadership of the government.

During the visit, Congressman Burton and Dr. Burton also visited with members of the US Navy
Fifth Fleet and the Ambassador and other diplomats of the US Embassy in Bahrain.

The Embassy of Saudi Arabia hosted a reception where the Middle East Institute unveiled their new website.
The event was attended by several dignitaries and distinguished guests, including representatives from the
embassies of several Middle Eastern countries.
